Beware of the 10 Inner Saboteurs

Your Saboteurs generate negative emotions, including stress, anxiousness, self-doubt, anger, avoidance, procrastination, insensitivity, or discontent.  These sneaky demons, each with its distinctive voice, beliefs, and assumptions, give rise to automatic habits that undermine your best interests.  The good news is you can train yourself to recognize and intercept them, fostering a stronger, more resilient mindset for a joyful, fulfilling life.


In my video, I explain what Mental Fitness is and the interplay between our two brains – the Saboteur and Sage – along with the 10 Saboteurs.  These insights are the work of Shirzad Chamine, acclaimed author of the New York Times bestselling book Positive Intelligence and renowned Stanford lecturer with a background in Neuroscience.

I’m excited to share my journey with you … 

I was introduced to Shirzad’s 6-week PQ® group program by a friend who couldn’t stop raving about it, and now I understand why!

  • I calmed my inner perfectionist (Stickler Saboteur) who always nitpicked at everything and made me feel bad about my flaws.  Though she still pops up sometimes, I don’t take her as seriously anymore.  For instance, I recently knitted a sweater with a blaring mistake.  Instead of fixing it, I decided to wear it proudly as a reminder of my humanness.  
  • I overcame my procrastination habit  (Avoider Saboteur) and now find myself more motivated and inspired to tackle tasks I once avoided out of fear or dislike.
  • I moderated my overeating.  Emotional eating once trapped me in a never-ending cycle of ‘eat-repent-repeat,’ but not anymore.  Now, my daily practices heighten my awareness of when my body feels satisfied, making it easier to stop.  They also reconnect me with the joys of eating in the present moment.
  • I feel a more profound sense of purpose and hold more empathy for myself and others.

Motivated by my transformation, I trained with Shirzad Chamine, the renowned founder of Positive Intelligence®, to become a facilitator of his 6-week PQ® Program.
